Wardrobe Wire is your guide for "what to wear everywhere." We will help you dress for every occasion.
Diversity is devine, or at least Wardrobe Wire thinks so. We always get excited when new things hit the fashion world that we have not seen in a while or ever. Thanks to Diane Von Furstenberg we will be seeing a new kind of head gear- carlisle hats. The 50's are back and women dressed to impress and that included wearing hats. Lets bring back the class dah-lings.
Check out some of our favorites:

Wardrobe Wire was recently informed by a high priced former call girl that the top five things men request are:
1. Straight hair
2. Red nails
3. Shiny lip gloss
4. Short skirt ( duh)
5. Thigh high stockings

Wardrobe Wire’s current obsession, in the health and fitness arena, is a company called yogitoes. We wrote about them here.
bMAT SKIDLESS® is everything that your current bath mat is not. Like all products made by yogitoes, this mat is quick drying. It comes equipped with eco nubs that adhere to slippery surfaces. Forever on you will win the, “my bathroom is better than your bathroom” conversation. We know how often those conversations happen. Wardrobe Wire wants YOU to win!
Chose your mat color by what you chose to bring in to your life:
Reed (a color of green that is very popular right now) = Abundance
Ocean (you know, like the water) = Serenity
Pebble (gray like a stone) = Clarity
Mandarin (like an orange)= Vivacity
Fig (like a plum) = Consciousness
Rapper Lil Flip said, “ I love wearing platinum, but my favorite color is green”. Mr. Flip was not talking about the color green that is currently in fashion because of the military/utilitarian trend. We’re pretty sure he was talking about the color of cash. Cash that is needed to buy this trend: GREEN VELVET. Yes, I said it.
The stores and magazines have been throwing green pants, dresses, shoes, purses, blouses, etc. in your face for months. Now, expect to see some green velvet. Green velvet blazers and cocktail dresses mostly. And by green we mean more of a dark forest green. Perfect for a date with a sophisticated man or a holiday party come winter!
Remember the Roxette song “ Dressed for Success”? I shamefully admit I LOVED that song. Everyone just CALM DOWN this article has nothing to do with Roxette, but it DOES have to do with getting dressed for success.
Someone so kindly shared with me this quote by Thomas Fuller, “ Good clothes open all doors”.
We’ve talked a ton about the fashion styles from the 1940’s, 50’s, and early 60’s making a comeback. Those were the days in which women would not be caught dead in jeans. Women would wear dresses, skirts, hats, gloves, and always be fully groomed with hair and make-up in perfect place. Not until the hippie movement did things start to change. I’m not complaining, let me make that clear, because one of my favorite themes to dress in is “hippie chic”. I could sleep in jeans. That is how much I like a good pair of denim!
Mark Twain said, “ Be careless in your dress if you must, but keep a tidy soul.” I’m just as guilty as the next of being “ careless in my dress”, but NEVER for a big meeting, event, date, party, etc. Lately, I’ve been trying to practice what I preach by actually getting ready fully for the day even if I have no where special to go. You never know what might randomly pop up and we would be devastated if we were not prepared.
Wardrobe Wire would love to see both men and women start trying a little harder with their dress and grooming. It’s fun, you don’t need a lot of money to pull the look together, and when you dress up…. you will see the doors start to open. Some things to add to your wardrobe, borrow from a friend, or dig through your mom or grandmother’s closet for include the following:
1. A knee length full skirt
2. A wool or tweed blazer
3. Round toe heels worn with socks
4. Red or maroon lipstick
5. Elbow length gloves
6. A trench coat
7. A handle bag
8. A pillow box hat with a netted veil (think Jackie O)
