Every woman wants to be sexy, no matter her size or age. A sheer top is the perfect way to be just sexy enough… without looking like you’re trying too hard. All woman can be sexy by showing a peek of skin, yes even in the office! But it has to be done tasteful.
Designers like Rachel Roy, one of my personal favorites and Phillip Lim are showing sheer tops in their Spring 10’ collections. A sheer top can be placed over a dress to add contrast and give a new look to your favorite “little black dress”. I love mixing hard and soft textiles and accessories together, so paring a sheer blouse with a studded bra underneath and a pair of leather shorts would be a great look. Wearing a sheer lace blouse is a good style choice for the woman who wants to go sheer but not reveal as much. Also wearing sheer on the peak of a shoulder like Net-A-Porter (see gallery) is also a sexy yet modest look. And as always a tank top can be place under a sheer top! If this is your style choice I say be different and wear a tank with a print, paired with a jacket to give a peak of surprise!
Currently on sale at Ralph Lauren for $59.99, this Georgina Sheer Silk Blouse (see gallery) is a perfect sheer look any woman can wear to work. Paring this blouse with a pant or pencil skirt is ideal. For the Wardrobe Wire woman who wants to add a punch to this simple silhouette a metallic or studded pump and accessories adds a hard edge to this soft look.
Seen at Victoria’s Secret online catalog for $59.99, the VS sheer lace top (see gallery) is a great work to cocktail transition blouse. Just put on a pair of bright colored hot pants or boy shorts with an ankle boot and party with style.
A sheer top can be as versatile to a wardrobe as the tank top you pair with it. As seen on celebs from Victoria Beckham to Khloe Kardashian; a sheer blouse or top is the perfect way to be sexy without showing too much and leave the men begging for more! Check out the gallery for some of our favorite sheer looks this season.
Wear it with style!
