Spring’s Surprise Trend: Tulle
As always, many designers are bringing the pretty for Spring. But one surprise material they are using this season is Tulle. I know…you’re first thought is that horrible crinkly tulle dress your mother made you wear that was super itchy and wrinkled the minute you sat in it. Well, get that horrible memory out of your head. This season’s tulle is soft and light and moves with your body. It’s showing up on skirts, tops, dresses, and shoes. Since tulle is such a feminine material, try pairing it with something more masculine or structured, such as a military jacket or blazer or plain fitted tee. Go for the D&G western look and pair it with a denim button-down shirt and leather boots. As far as jewelry, go for chunkier or multi-strand necklaces and bracelets. It’s all about the balance, baby. Feminine, pretty tulle, needs a structured, edgy companion….just like us ladies.
