Howe learned his craft at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles and has designed for labels such as Quicksilver and Fox Racing before launching Howe in 2001. (He was actually a surfboard designer for 16 years!) Since launching, he has dressed a slew of cool people like Tony Hawk, Weezer, Franz Ferdinand, and The Rock. He also won a Stuff Magazine Style Icon Award in 2005. Some may say he started the skinny jean trend for men, but once it’s been around for 8 years, you can hardly call it a trend anymore. It’s definitely a look, a fashion, a staple in today’s creative circles. And to put the word trend and Howe in the same sentence does him the quite the disservice. His latest focus has grown up from the quintessential skater dude into what he calls “indie executive,” the “hard-playing, creative, and career-minded guy whose lifestyle has him on the move from his corner office to backstage within minutes.”
So, how much does all this coolness set you back? Well, t-shirts start at $38, woven button downs and hoodies from $88, blazers from $155, and denim starts at $98.
Now, before you go running out the door and drive around aimlessly, chanting Hause of Howe, desperate to find a road sign that points you in the right direction-try one of these places: Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s or MetroPark.
