Obsessed! If I had to pick one word to describe how I feel about Fiona Paxton - it’s obsessed. Not husband stealing obsessed like Ali Larter in the new Beyonce movie, but obsessed in a way that I envision myself following her around, trying to become her very best friend, all in an attempt to steal every accessory the girl has ever made. If you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing the gorgeous work that spills out of Fiona’s hands, well then, I am here to change your life (accessories wise, at least) forever.
Paxton is a graduate of The Royal College of Art in London and successfully went on to become a top print designer for major labels such as Chloe, Armani, and Moschino. She took her amazing talent in textiles and prints and transferred it into jewelry, launching her first collection in early 2008. Her necklaces and cuffs are all hand embroidered with sequins, chains, glass, wood, and metal beads, and she continues to use her print design expertise to create some of the most interesting, and obsessive worthy designs I’ve ever seen. The chunky patterns she embroiders in each piece will make you stand out in every crowd. Her art worthy pieces are mostly black, silver, and gold, but colors (pink, yellow, and blue) are creeping into her collection. Her necklaces are thick in width and rest flat against your chest and her bracelets include an approximately 4” wide hand beaded cuff with leather lace-up and silver fringe. My personal must have piece. Oh, and did I mention she makes scarves too?!
Yes, many of the Hollywood fashionistas (Drew Barrymore, Hilary Duff, Isla Fisher, and Hilary Swank to name a few) have been tipped off about her magnificence, but don’t fret my fashion friend, her pieces are affordable and I swear you don’t have to make a million a film to own one. I have found her necklaces and bracelets between $175 and $350. Ok, so maybe you can’t buy 10, but save up your lunch money for a week or two and at least buy 1. You can wear it with your favorite super soft tee or your sexiest LBD, heck, I’d even wear it to bed naked (obsessed!).
So get up right now and head to Barneys, search your local fashion forward boutique (and beg them to get them on order if they haven’t already done so), or just chip that credit card out of the ice block you have it frozen in and go to www.fiona-paxton.com.
