On this day, especially, ladies should wear something extra flirty and feminine. Men, it’s time to pull out your nicest jeans and cashmere sweater! There’ll be a lot of cuddling and snuggling, so both ladies and gents should stick to soft or silky fabrics. Silk and cashmere are Valentine’s favorites!
For women, a pretty dress that compliments your figure, high heels, and a touch of jewelry can be the perfect outfit. Don’t be afraid to wear a hot pair of dress pants, though. If the date is super casual, sexy jeans and a pretty top with boots or heels should be perfect. Less is not necessarily more when you’re dressing for the evening’s festivities. Pick one area to show skin, either your legs, back, or neck and chest – never a combination of all three! Men, a casual or dress sport coat, button up, and nice pants is a no-fail for most situations. Don’t be afraid, though, to go easy with a nice cashmere or lightweight wool sweater and jeans.
What you wear is going to depend on where you’re going, so be sure to ask first. Is it a formal and fancy dinner or a casual bottle of wine on a rooftop terrace? Even if you’re heading to his house to order in food and watch movies, go with something a little more special than the usual everyday jeans and hoodie. And, most of all, don’t forget a card, flowers, or candy!
