Gents…there are two schools of thought here: are you just "looking" or are you a "pleasure seeker" wanting lap dances and lots of them?!
For the “looker”- the same rules apply to a strip club as any other night club. Although many strip clubs don’t have any dress codes, following the dress code rules of thumb for a night out dancing will be a surefire hit. Wear dark wash jeans or slacks, some form of “dress shoe” (running shoes and/or flip flops will look ridiculous), and a nice button down shirt or simple dark colored crew neck t-shirt. If you aren’t planning on spending money on dances, don’t tease the ladies with expensive watches or jewelry. They will be on you like flies on sh*t and will only end up angry when you keep rejecting their requests for private dances.
For the “pleasure seeker” - if you have another option that is less abrasive than jeans, the ladies who will be grinding on your lap would prefer you went with it. Let’s face it, jeans + bare baby soft skin = OUCH! Also, belts are torture devices, so if your pants will stay up without the belt, skip it! More important than what you are wearing is your personal hygiene. Body odor is a big no-no! So, if you have had a long, hard day at work…pop on home for a quick shower. Or, at the very least, go in the bathroom, wash your face, and slather on a fresh layer of deodorant. Keep a clean shirt in your vehicle, and change out of the painter’s smock!
I spent a good number of years on the road as an exotic dancer. I have to say the award for “best strip club attire” went to a group of surgeons in Miami that were specifically out for pleasure and LOTS OF IT…lots of dances, lots of girls!! These guys would wear “warm ups” or basketball shorts with a t-shirt and running shoes. They weren’t much to look at in their outfits, but they got the most bang for their buck out of the lap dances. It made it much easier for me to know if they were “rising to the occasion” and enjoying my time.
Ladies…the same rule applies for you as for the guys. Are you a “looker” or a “pleasure seeker”?
If you are simply a “looker” - let’s say your boyfriend dragged you out to the strip club to “spice things up”, or you are out with a large group of people and you have some idea that’s where your fifth drunken stop of the night will land you, it doesn’t really matter what you wear. As a matter of fact, this is the time and place to pull out that *really* slutty top that you aren’t usually brave enough to wear in public. A really hot outfit would be skin tight leggings with some knee high (or higher) boots and a sexy, slouchy, sequined tunic with tons of bangle bracelets. A super sexy mini dress with some killer heels are also totally appropriate. Let’s face it, you have competition for the men’s attention. Live it up, and DO IT UP!
If you are a “pleasure seeker” and intend to partake in the lovely ladies' private dancing, I would recommend skipping on a skirt, unless you don’t mind all the other patrons knowing what color your thong is. The dancer is very likely going to spread your legs and kneel on the floor between them, so make sure you are *ahem* clean! And laundry day panties are a no no! Wear your “secret weapon” perfume, something she will never have smelled before. If your legs are bare, shave and slather on a nice layer of lotion. Make sure they are soft, silky, and shiny.
Regardless if you are male or female, a looker, or a pleasure seeker, you are going to be in a rather loud establishment which is going to force everyone to lean in close if they want to be heard. Brush your teeth, and keep some gum/mints on your person. There’s no worse buzz kill than smelly breath!
